The National Flag Day will be celebrated on Thursday, November 2nd this year. UAE Flag Day has been commemorated on November 3 until now, but the Ministry of Cabinet and the Future issued a circular on Saturday announced that celebrations will take place on Thursday, November 2 this year.
The Flag Day marks the anniversary of HH Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan becoming the president in 2004-tomorrow will mark 13 years since his accession - but, of course, that also reminds people of the loss of the country's founder Sheikh Zayed, who preceded him as president. The day is a national campaign that was launched in 2013 by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, to honor the country’s past, present and future.
As you can see the whole country will be adorned in red, white, black and green on Thursday. And the magnificent Burj Khalifa will shine pride with these colors. What a lovely visual treat that would be? The flag represents citizens and symbolizes dignity, pride and achievements, safety, peace and happiness.
RED color symbolizes the sacrifices of previous generations who had laid the foundations of the Union and the sacrifices of the nation's martyrs to safeguard the UAE, its achievements and gain.
GREEN color symbolizes growth, prosperity, green environment and cultural Renaissance.
WHITE color displays the UAE's charitable contributions and the state's approach to support the security and peace in the world.
BLACK color reflects the strength of Emirati citizens, rejection of injustice and extremism.
